She was born in 1972 in Belgrade, where she completed her primary and secondary education. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of Belgrade University in 1998. She completed her specialist training at the same university in 2008, in the field of terrorism, organised crime and corruption. She passed the bar exam in 2001.
Subsequent to completing her studies, she worked from 1998 to 2001 at the Commercial Court in Belgrade (litigation section, where she did her internship and, after passing the bar examination, worked as an associate). From 2001-2005 she worked as a court assistant at the Belgrade County Court and the Belgrade Second Municipal Court (work-related disputes and extra-contentious law). While working in judiciary, she gained experience in the court register, bankruptcy and enforcement department of the Commercial Court in Belgrade, as well as in the criminal department and the land-register court department of the Second Municipal Court in Belgrade.
In the period 2005-2010 she worked with the Republic Board dealing with the conflict of interest, first as an adviser to a member of the Republic Board, and from 2008, as the Secretary of the Republic Board.
Subsequent to the formation of the Anti-Corruption Commission, she was transferred from the position of the Secretary of the Republic Board to the position of the Secretary of the Agency Board, in 2010.
In November 2012, she was appointed as an acting director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, and from January 2013 until she was appointed as a Constitutional Court Judge, she acted in the capacity of the Agency Director.
In the capacity of the Agency Director, she presented at several professional conferences in the country and abroad, participated in numerous round tables and public debates, as well as in various activities related to education of public office holders, and was a presenter in a number of various programmes and courses.
She was the president of the Ministry of Justice working group responsible for drafting a new Law on Anti-Corruption Agency and a member of the Ministry of Finances working group responsible for drafting a new Law on Amendments to the Law on Financing Political Activities.
She can speak English.
She is a mother of three.
She was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court in December 2016. Judge Djurkić had her last name changed from Babić, under which she had been appointed a Judge of the Constitutional Court, in 2019.
