Nataša Plavšić was born in 1978 in Novi Pazar, and graduated from the Faculty of Law, Belgrade University, in June 2002. She obtained her LL.M and LL.D (both with distinction) from the same faculty, by defending the theses entitled „Protocol 14 to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms“ in April 2009, and her dissertation entitled „Protection of an Individual Before the Human Rights Committee and the European Court of Human Rights“ in September 2016.
In the period December 2002 - January 2016 she worked at the Professional Court Service of the Constitutional Court, first as an intern, and subsequently to having passed the bar examination in February 2005, as an associate and then a seniour associate. She was appointed to the position of the Head of the Professional Court Service for Proceedings on Constitutional Appeals and Appeals by the Constitutional Court in November 2013. In January 2016, she was appointed to the position of an acting Government Agent of the Republic of Serbia before the European Court of Human Rights, and remained in this post until her appointment to a Judge of the Constitutional Court.
She was in professional development residency trainings at the European Court of Human Rights for three months both in 2009 and in 2011. In July 2012, she attended and completed the Diplomatic Academy „Koča Popović“ at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She attended numerous professional and specialized trainings, summer schools and seminars in the field of human rights and constitutional law, in the country and abroad. The most important among these were the Regional Advanced Programme of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law of Lund University in Sweden, the Summer School of Comparative Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law in Trento, Italy, and the MATRA programme of Access to Justice at the Asser Institute in the Hague, the Netherlands.
She was engaged to work in the trainings in the field of human rights which were organized in the Republic of Serbia by the Judicial Academy, the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade and the USAID. She took part in numerous scientific and professional symposia and conferences in the field of human rights, both in Serbia and abroad. She published several professional and scholarly papers in the field of human rights and constitutional law.
She speaks English and Spanish.
On 19 April 2019, she was appointed a Judge of the Constitutional Court in the General Session of the Supreme Court of Cassation. She assumed her duty of a Constitutional Court Judge on 9 May 2019, by taking the oath before the president of the National Assembly.
